My first point and shoot
It’s a point-and-shoot that also records 720p HD video. And let me just tell you how stinkin’ amazed I was at the quality of the video. I was just about ready to spend $1,200 on a video camera until I found this guy for $350. There are a few downsides like not being able to zoom and single clip record time limited to 30 mins. But for what I’ll be using it for it’s perfect. Here are a couple videos I shot yesterday just to show you what I mean. Be prepared to be amazed. The first one is from different scenarios and the second was from some weather clips I shot last night. I didn’t effect these at all, straight out of the camera.

Lubbock weather time lapse
Shot on Sony EX1 with Letus Extreme 35mm adapter with a variety of zoom and prime lenses. Please excuse the grain, it was a learning experience. Here is the highlights from the week: This is the video we sent to our group in California as well as those of you at home: This weekend is a busy one but one I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. Let me first recap last weekend. I shot the biggest and most decorative wedding yet. I heard that there were over 12,000 roses used in the ceremony decorations. WOW. Anyway, I can’t wait to get started on that wedding. Back to this weekend: Friday – Bridal Elegance shoot. My wife was giddy when I asked her to get dressed back up in her wedding dress to shoot this. We’ve scouted locations and have a general idea of shots we want. I say we because she’s my model for the day and basically the VP of Blalock Video. I’ve never shot one before but have wanted to for a long time. Saturday – Trash the Dress shoot. That’s right, there are brides in Lubbock who are OK with getting a little messy. I had the privilege of shooting Dane and Shari’s wedding on 8.8.08. Shari is a great sport by doing this and I think she’s looking forward to it too. This is going to be awesome, I can’t wait! Speaking of Dane and Shari… I will be finishing editing their wedding movie by the end of the weekend and posting segments of it on the blog shortly thereafter. To future and current brides, if you are interested in a Bridal Elegance piece or Trash the Dress let me know. I will offering a huge sale to brides who are interested. Call or email for more details! Here’s is what has been keeping me busy the past couple days. I hope you enjoy! So, maybe you didn’t get a chance to see our ceremony videos. Of course I am sick of them cause I have seen them 50 billion times. But I thought I would put them up for your enjoyment. On the second video be sure to stick around for the out-takes! So, we made it back from our honeymoon yesterday afternoon. It was a great trip! I had a beautiful girl on my arm, gorgeous scenery and not a care in the world for about a week. We took a cruise to the eastern Caribbean. I must admit it is nice to be back and have 99% of the wedding behind us. Now for the fun part… re-living each moment via video from Joe Mullins and images from Shan Renee and Braeden Rogers. Here are a few from Shan and Braeden… video to come shortly. I had to wipe my hands off 3 times before I could even start typing this post. In 10 days I get the marry the hottest, sweetest, and most fun girl I know. Meet Alison soon-to-be Blalock. Thanks to Shan Renee Ingram at Captured Photography for the fabulous picture. She is amazing! Time to get back editing… trying to finish 3 projects before I leave so I can really enjoy the honeymoon! Until then, thanks for reading. One more from Shan to hold you over: So, there’s nothing worse than working on a video project for yourself. I am getting married in 23 days and it’s coming QUICK. We wanted to have a few video elements (surprise surprise) in the ceremony and I thought it would be a good idea to edit it myself. Little did I know I would be nit-picking every little detail because it has to be PERFECT, right? I work on other people’s videos all the time. I see their baby pictures and video and have grown numb them. For some reason I thought this one would be the same. Boy, was I wrong. I’m not sure 23 days will be enough to finish this masterpiece Well here we are world, finally a Blalock Video blog. It’s been a long time coming. We will be using this blog to allow you all a little glimpse inside Blalock Video and what we are up to. Check back to see the latest and greatest! Thanks for reading! T-minus 10 days

I am too busy to think about the wedding much but when I do my heart starts racing. Those of you who have gone through this before can relate I’m sure. You can also relate to the feeling of just wanting to get past the ceremony and get on with life! We are getting to that point. But I couldn’t be happier or luckier! She is an amazing woman who loves me almost as she does Jesus.
